Rashmika Mandanna has been one of the latest south stars, who’s trying to make inroads into Bollywood. The actress who’s well-known across south industries, became a national crush after Pushpa: The Rise starring Allu Arjun hit screens.
Since a couple of years, Rashmika has made Mumbai her home too, as she’s been in talks with filmmakers for Hindi projects. After making an entry in B-Town with her first theatrical venture, which released recently, Rashmika is now gearing up for her couple of other releases in Hindi, which will release soon.
From Sridevi to Rajinikanth, there has been many south stars who crossed over into Bollywood. So, is there any one inspiration, who pushed Rashmika to do her best? “I have respect for all the stars (who crossed over successfully). I have high regards for them. But, honestly, I don’t have an inspiration as such, as my journey hasn’t been the same.”
She further explains saying, “I hail from Coorg (Karnataka) and I have had quite a journey from starting to act in Kannada films, then moving to Telugu movies, then taking up Tamil films and now Hindi movies. So, I sort of haven’t met anyone who’s had such a journey and so I can’t say that he or she is my inspiration.”
Rashmika concludes saying, “In fact, I hope my journey and I inspire some girls one day. I have had a different journey and I believe that if I could do it, they could do it too. When I was growing up, I was a girl who just wanted to study and take care of my family. But look at me today! I have a voice and I can reach out to so many people. Therefore, I wish one day I am that inspiration for other such girls who want to dream big.”
